The Men's Hoka Challenger ATR 7 has added 2mm of cushion to their best-selling road to trail running shoe while reducing the weight by over 20 grams. The Hoka Challenger ATR 7 is now softer and more durable due to an improved outsole design. Hoka simplified the upper decreasing weight while removing pressure points that can cause blistering over long durations.

Technologies 

·Durabrasion rubber
The improved outsole has increased durability compared to previous models by increasing the overall surface area of the rubber while placing 4mm lugs in the foot-strike areas that receive the most abuse. 

 

· Engineered Mesh Upper
The upper on the Challenger ATR 7 has has been simplified. It is now lighter with a seamless feel built to be friendly on the feet for long outings. They introduced an extended heel tab for easier entry into the shoe. The laces are made of recycled poly materials. Compared to the previous model the ATR 7 upper is softer and lighter. 

 

· Molded EVA Sockliner
Hoka created a molded EVA sockliner to provide additional cushion and softness from the foot strike to the toe off. Additionally, the molded EVA sockliner allows runners and walkers to use the Challenger ATR 7 for long durations right out of the box without having to break the shoe in. 

 

· Compressed Molded EVA Midsole
Hoka retained the CMEVA midsole used in previous Hoka Challenger ATR models. The midsole allows Hoka to add 2mm of additional cushion without adding weight while providing the high cushion Challenger users have loved for years.

 

· Early Stage Meta Rocker
This is the engine of the Men's Hoka Challenger ATR 7. The Early Stage Meta Rocker helps heel strikers get to the toe off without sacrificing responsiveness for forefoot and midfoot strikers.
